happens, the network will break down and you could lose all files. Some of the
files that you lose might be vital to the operation of your business. You will
not be able to operate or make money, just because someone decided to break
into the company for a bit of fun.
This could mean the end
of your business just from one break in. You shouldn't be making this easy for
them, so you have to have anti-virus software running on your computers. This
software should protect you from viruses, Trojans and any keystroke recorders.
These are the things that will make the most damage to your company if they get
into your system.
Monitors
You need to make some
sort of monitor on your computers. This is to stop people from getting
information off the system and then selling it on to other companies. Non-trust
worthy workers might have a grudge against your company and they will sell
information to your competitors so that they can their revenge on you.
Therefore, having some
sort of monitor software on the machines will mean that you will know if
someone access information that has nothing to do with the job that they do.
You can program the monitor to email you or send a warning on the system when
certain keywords are keyed in. You will know instantly and you can catch them
in the act before they have even left the office.
In this day and age,
anything can turn an employee against a company so you need to watch your own
back and warn people that their computers are monitored so that it can act as a
deterrent.
