How to Fix Windows Installer Error? Method 2- By Teagan Presley

I have introduced the method 1 to solve the Windows Installer Error in my previous article. If the method doesn't help you here is another one. For this second method, you should reinstall the Windows installer.Please follow the following steps.

1. start Run... type "cmd", a command prompt will be opened

2. run the following commands one line by one line

attrib -r -s -h c:windowssystem32dllcache

ren msi.dll msi.bak

ren msiexec.exe msiexec.bak

ren msihnd.dll msihnd.bak

These steps helps you to rename the existing msi.dll, msiexec.exe, and msihnd.dll files.

3. Exit the command prompt

4. Download the latest update of Windows Installer for your Windows operating system from the Microsoft Download Center, then install it on your system and restart your computer. This method should rectify your solve the installer problem.

If you receive an error related to Windows Installer then you can resolve it either by re-registering the msiexec.exe file or by reinstalling the Windows Installer. However, please be careful while working with the registry and always make a backup before making any changes to it.
